Vasquez broke camp in the rotation and remained in the majors aside from a couple of short late-season stints with Triple-A El Paso, starting 26 of 28 outings and setting a new career high with 133.2 innings. His 3.84 ERA finished more than a run lower than both his 5.51 xFIP and 5.43 SIERA, while his 4.6 percent K-BB% ranked third-lowest among pitchers with at least 130 innings. A low .261 BABIP and a high 77.4 percent left on base rate helped keep his ERA in check. Vasquez throws six pitches, with the sweeper generating the most swinging strikes, but he relied more heavily on his less effective four-seamer, sinker, and cutter.
