Foley relied on his sinker more than ever in 2023 (69.3% pitch usage) after adding a tick of velocity (97.2 mph average) on the pitch. 45 of Foley's 55 total strikeouts came via his sinker, which also yielded a 57.1% groundball percentage that was 14th-highest among qualified relievers. The 28-year-old also set career-best marks in games played (70), innings (69.0), WHIP (1.16) and holds (28) while leading Tigers relievers with a 2.82 WPA.
