Gomber set career highs with 30 starts and 165 innings. He recorded 12 quality starts (five at home), but he's also susceptible to a disaster outing, affectionately known in fantasy circles as being "Gombered." He limits walks, so on the occasions he enjoys batted ball fortune and can keep the ball in the yard, Gomber can be effective. However, he sports a below average strikeout rate and is a fly ball pitcher, so timing his productive outings is a fool's errand. He's slightly better away from Coors Field, but even his 4.55 ERA and 1.26 WHIP on the road since 2022 does more harm than good.
