Thompson has a nondescript profile, with the exception of the fact he's a Rockies position player who could play in 2026. A former third baseman who is now a below-average defensive outfielder limited to the corners, Thompson has fringe-average raw power and fringe-average speed. He slashed .296/.392/.519 with 18 homers, 12 steals, a 118 wRC+ and a 20.9 percent strikeout rate in 120 games in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League last year. The Rockies added Thompson to the 40-man roster this offseason, and while he has plenty of weaknesses (athleticism, raw power), they aren't things that will improve with more time at Triple-A.
