2026 Fantasy Outlook
Del Castillo was limited during the first half of 2025 by injuries (back, shoulder) and played just 14 games at Triple-A Reno (and another 14 on rehab assignment). He eventually joined Arizona following the All-Star break, mostly serving as a DH or pinch hitter. After a strong showing at the plate in his first taste of the majors in 2024, Del Castillo dropped to a .682 OPS last season, although he produced at Reno. The organization's goal was for him to continue to develop his defensive skills, but Del Castillo played just 16 games behind the plate across all three locations. That negates any thoughts that he could serve as a backup to Gabriel Moreno in 2026, so Arizona re-signed James McCann to be the primary backup. That doesn't mean Del Castillo will return to Reno, however; the lefty-hitter could serve as the primary DH against right-handers. Read Past Outlooks
