Shay Whitcomb

Whitcomb is now 27 years old and has hit .263/.344/.493 with 73 homers and 54 steals in Triple-A over the course of the past three seasons, but that production has not opened doors on the Houston roster. Whitcomb has been up each of the past two seasons with the club at one point or another, and has a single homer and no steals to show for it. Furthering the ill-fit in this organization, Whitcomb's defensive issues limit him to second base or third base in a pinch, and those spots are covered this year by Altuve and Paredes. Whitcomb has remaining options and will likely consider running for Mayor of Sugarland this season as he heads back there for a fourth season unless he is included in some sort of offseason trade to address the club's questionable pitching staff.
