Gonsolin (back) will need at least two more rehab outings to ramp up to five or six innings before the Dodgers activate him from the 15-day injured list, MLB.com reports.

The Dodgers have openings in the starting rotation with Blake Snell (shoulder) on the IL and with Justin Wrobleski having been sent back to Triple-A following a poor spot start earlieri this week. However, Gonsolin doesn't look as though he'll be an immediate option to fill any of the voids in the rotation. He didn't pitch for the Dodgers and was limited to five minor-league rehab starts in 2024 while recovering from Tommy John surgery, but he was deemed healthy heading into spring training until being shut down in mid-March after suffering from back tightness during a weightlifting session. Gonsolin was cleared to begin a minor-league rehab assignment at Triple-A on April 3 and made his second start for the affiliate Wednesday, covering 3.1 innings and striking out seven while allowing an unearned run on one hit and one walk.
