Nick Solak News: Becomes free agent

Solak elected to become a free agent Thursday.

Solak cleared waivers after being booted off the Padres' 40-man roster. He'll become a free agent instead of accepting an assignment to the minors, though the utility player might have to settle for a minor-league contract anyway.
