Drew Pomeranz News: Cut loose by Angels

The Angels released Pomeranz on Thursday.

After being designated for assignment earlier in the week, Pomeranz ended up clearing waivers and will now be free to test the open market with the Angels electing to cut him loose. The veteran southpaw struggled to a 5.01 ERA and 1.59 WHIP with 16 strikeouts while recording seven holds and two blown saves over 23.1 innings in 25 appearances with the Angels this season.
