Closer Watch

New York Mets -- Kyle Farnsworth finished off his first save opportunity with relative ease Monday, but it was his reaction after vanquishing the Cardinals that might be more notable. After recording the save, Farnsworth was seen hunched over and shaking his forearm, later admitting that he was dealing with a little soreness. The Mets don't seem to be too concerned about the injury, but it may take him a couple days before he returns to optimal health.

Recommended Pickup

Corey Dickerson, OF, COL -- Dickerson lost most of his fantasy appeal in the season's first week after manager Walt Weiss settled on Charlie Blackmon as his starting center fielder and leadoff hitter, ultimately returning to the minors on Apr. 7. However, after Michael Cuddyer suffered a hamstring strain last week, Dickerson quickly earned a return trip to the majors, and now stands a chance at receiving regular at-bats after Cuddyer was officially placed on the 15-day DL on Monday. Although Weiss was expected to shuffle the right field starts among Dickerson, Drew Stubbs and Brandon Barnes, Dickerson's performance in Monday's 8-2 win over the Giants (3-for-4, with a double, home run, two RBI and a stolen base) may allow him to run away with the job. If that's the case, Dickerson can be a moderate source of home runs and stolen bases for fantasy owners, while his batting average and run-scoring totals would be further aided by Colorado's home park and impressive collection of talent in the lineup. Dickerson's place in the starting lineup probably will be short-lived since Cuddyer is expected to be ready to play when eligible May 3, but he could still present plenty of value even in a short-term appointment.
