Closer Watch

Yankees -- Not much in the way of actual news developed Tuesday regarding the closing situation, as the team lost by a 14-5 count to the Orioles. However, after manager Joe Girardi announced Shawn Kelley was unavailable in Tuesday's game after pitching four of the last six games, the underlying message seemed to be that Kelley will be the team's primary closer while David Robertson (groin) heads to the DL. Robertson's stay on the DL isn't expected to last much longer than the 15-day minimum, so fantasy owners in deeper leagues may not want to invest too heavily in Kelley during this weekend's free agent auction bidding.

Recommended Pickup

Nathan Eovaldi, SP, MIA -- He's only made two starts this season, but Eovaldi certainly looks like he's on track to make a big leap this season to complement Jose Fernandez atop the Marlins' rotation. Eovaldi generated some sleeper buzz in the pre-draft process after demonstrating the top average velocity (96.2 mph) of any hurler with at least 100 innings pitched last season, but questions lingered if he could generate the strikeout rates to match. He's certainly done his part to justify the hype thus far with 14 strikeouts in 13 innings, while giving up just one walk. Again, it's a small sample size, but given Eovaldi's considerable youth (just 24 years old), raw stuff, and his pitcher-friendly home park, there's a decent chance he doesn't regress too much from his current level of production.

Other recent recommendations: Charlie Blackmon, Chris Owings, Casey McGehee, Lucas Duda and Marcell Ozuna
