Zia Cooke

Picked 10th overall in the 2023 WNBA Draft, Cooke isn't afraid to fire from deep and converts reasonably well, attempting 4.9 three per game in 2022-23 while shooting 34.6 percent. She sports a polished mid-range game and lands at a spot in Los Angeles where minutes should be available. Dearica Hamby, who recently gave birth, Katie Lou Samuelson, who announced her pregnancy in February, and Jasmine Thomas (also acquired this offseason), who is returning from a torn ACL suffered at the beginning of the 2022 campaign, all will or could miss time. On top of them, the team waived Chennedy Carter this offseason, freeing more backcourt space. Cooke should be among the candidates in training camp competing for playing time, but there is room for improvement for the rookie, and she may not join the fantasy-relevant ranks in most formats in her first season.
