Satou Sabally

27-Year-Old ForwardF
 New York Liberty  WNBA
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Sabally spent the first six years of her WNBA career with Dallas before being traded to Phoenix in January of 2025. She saw her playing time dip significantly this past season (26.6 minutes per game) compared to 2024 (34.1), but she still averaged 16.3 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.7 threes across 39 regular-season games in 2025. Sabally has had some issues with injuries over the last couple of years, including a concussion that prevented her from playing in Game 4 of the WNBA Finals against the Aces, but that shouldn't impact her availability for the 2026 campaign. Sabally is an unrestricted free agent and should demand more money than the $215,000 she accumulated in 2025. However, her injury history and slightly decreased production could limit the pay jump she receives from the Mercury or another team interested in her services. While free to sign with any team, it seems likely Sabally will return to the desert in 2026. Read Past Outlooks
Says she's healthy to begin camp
FNew York Liberty
April 20, 2026
Sabally (concussion) said Monday that she's "full go" as training camp gets underway, Madeline Kenney of the New York Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Sabally also said Monday that the Liberty are "monitoring everything" and that she's being eased back into action, but it seems unlikely that the concussion that knocked her out of the 2025 WNBA playoffs will force her to miss the beginning of the regular season. Sabally appeared in a career-high 39 regular-season games with the Mercury last year, averaging 16.3 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals in 26.6 minutes per game.

2023
2022
Availability has been Sabally's main drawback over her five seasons in the league, and that was no different in 2024. After she appeared in a career-high 38 regular-season games in 2023, she was limited to just 15 regular-season appearances in 2024, as she missed the first half of the year while recovering from offseason shoulder surgery. Her production didn't take a major hit upon her return, as she averaged 17.9 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 34.1 minutes per game. Sabally will have a change of scenery in 2025 for the first time in her career, as she was traded from Dallas to Phoenix during the offseason. The Mercury also acquired Alyssa Thomas over the winter, but if Sabally can remain healthy in 2025, she should maintain a prominent role for a team that lost longtime center Brittney Griner via free agency.
Sabally had relatively consistent production over her first three seasons in the league, but she had some absences that led to some slow stretches. However, she appeared in 38 games in 2023 and put together a career-best season in nearly every statistical category. The 25-year-old averaged 18.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.8 steals in 33.1 minutes per game while shooting a career-high 43.5 percent from the floor and 36.1 percent from beyond the arc. Sabally re-signed with the Wings during the offseason, but she underwent shoulder surgery in February that is expected to keep her sidelined through the Olympic break. She has plenty of late-season potential if she can return at full strength, but Maddy Siegrist, Lou Lopez Senechal and Kalani Brown could see increased run over the first half of the year.
Sabally is a high-risk, high-reward fantasy prospect entering the 2023 season. When healthy, she's proven to be worth the investment, averaging 11.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 0.5 steals over 21.7 minutes per game in 2022. Unfortunately, she hasn't appeared in more than 16 games in any of her first three WNBA seasons while battling various injuries. If willing to stomach the risk, Sabally has the upside of a player landing in the first three or four rounds of fantasy drafts, but be prepared with backup options in the frontcourt.
Last season, Sabally didn't join the Wings until June because she was still competing in Europe, and then she missed nine games in the second half of the WNBA campaign because of an Achilles injury, so she only appeared in 17 total contests for Dallas. However, when she was on the floor, the second-year forward was one of the Wings' top producers. She averaged 11.9 points and 5.9 rebounds across 24.9 minutes, which were all lower than her rookie campaign, but that dropoff can likely be attributed to the lack of rhythm due to her lengthy absences. If Sabally is able to put together a full season in 2022, she'll likely finish as Dallas' No. 2 option behind Arike Ogunbowale.
