Sabrina Ionescu

28-Year-Old GuardG
 New York Liberty  WNBA
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Ionescu is coming off another strong campaign, earning All-WNBA Second Team honors and her fourth All-Star nod. She averaged 18.2 points, 5.7 assists, 4.9 rebounds and a career-high 1.3 steals across 31.4 minutes per game in 38 regular-season outings. Although the 28-year-old guard finished in the top 10 in points per game and assists per game, she also shot a career-worst 29.9 percent from three-point range on 7.1 attempts per contest. Still, Ionescu ranked 10th in eight-category settings for a second consecutive campaign and for the third time over the last four seasons. After spending the first six years of her career in New York, the Oregon product became an unrestricted free agent during the offseason but rejoined the Liberty on a three-year deal in April. She missed the 2026 Unrivaled season due to an injury sustained during the 2025 WNBA campaign, but she should be ready for the start of the WNBA regular season in 2026 after arriving to training camp healthy. Paces New York in victory
GNew York Liberty
June 30, 2026
Ionescu supplied 26 points (9-19 FG, 5-13 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds and five assists across 31 minutes in Tuesday's 93-85 Commissioner's Cup Championship win over the Aces.
ANALYSIS
Ionescu bounced back in this one following a nine-point effort in Sunday's loss to Golden State. She knocked down a game-high five triples en route to a team-best 26-point performance, and she also led the Liberty in assists. The 28-year-old guard has struggled through eight regular-season outings (seven starts), averaging 9.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists while shooting just 27.0 percent from three-point range in 27.6 minutes per game, so Tuesday's performance is encouraging.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2024
2023
2022
After dealing with some injuries over the first two years of her WNBA career, Ionescu has appeared in at least 36 regular-season games in each of the last three seasons and has been a focal point of New York's star-studded lineup. Her efficiency regressed slightly in 2024 after she shot an astonishing 44.8 percent on 7.9 three-point attempts per game the year before. However, she still converted 33.3 percent of her career-high 8.4 three-point attempts per game, helping her average 18.2 points, her highest mark in a full season in her career. The 27-year-old should continue to be one of the top fantasy options in 2025 and could see her usage rise even more since Courtney Vandersloot is no longer with the team.
Ionescu took a step forward during her third professional season in 2022, but her stats went in the wrong direction in 2023 as the Liberty formed a superteam. She averaged 17.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.4 assists in 31.5 minutes per game last year, with her rebounding and assist marks being the lowest of her career. However, she thrived from beyond the arc in her new role. She attempted 7.9 three-pointers per game and shot 44.8 percent from beyond the arc, both the best marks of her career. As a result, Ionescu led the league with 3.6 made three-pointers per game. The Liberty will retain Jonquel Jones in 2024 while also bringing back Breanna Stewart. While Ionescu's upside will likely remain somewhat limited as long as she has plenty of star power around her, she proved last year that she can still be one of the league's premier fantasy contributors and heads into 2024 with a high floor.
Ionescu turned in her strongest season to date in 2022, racking up 17.4 points, 7.1 boards, 6.4 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while playing in all 36 regular-season games. However, the Liberty completely overhauled the team's landscape in the offseason, including the addition of veteran point guard Courtney Vandersloot. With Vandersloot on board, Ionescu will likely move off the ball in the starting lineup. However, that isn't unfamiliar territory for Ionescu, who played her final three collegiate seasons alongside point guard Maite Cazorla at Oregon and still compiled her best three campaigns in terms of assists during those years. Ionescu could experience a minor downturn in scoring and rebounding production following the additions of frontcourt stars Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones, but she can still contribute in numerous areas and should remain a highly-regarded fantasy asset entering 2023.
In her first full WNBA season, Ionescu averaged 11.7 points, 6.1 assists and 5.7 rebounds in 30.0 minutes per game. She shot 37.9 percent from the field, 32.5 percent from three and 91.1 percent from the free-throw line. The 5-foot-11 guard finished the season strong, scoring in double figures in 12 straight games, including a 14 point, 11 assist double-double in her first and only career playoff contest. While she wasn't the leading scorer for the Liberty last season, she's still the clear leader of the young squad and boasts plenty of fantasy upside given her ability to contribute across the board.
