2026 Fantasy Outlook
Bueckers, one of the most highly-touted prospects in WNBA history, may have somehow exceeded expectations while putting together her impressive rookie resume in 2025. In her Aug. 20 performance versus the Sparks, Bueckers tied the single-game rookie scoring record with 44 points and even became the first player in league history to score at least 40 points while shooting at least 80 percent from the floor. She even led all guards with a 20.3 efficiency rating on the year, averaging 19.2 points, 5.4 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 33.3 minutes per tilt through 36 regular-season games on her way to running away with the 2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year award. Entering 2026, Bueckers will be trying to take another step forward on a Wings team with several new faces, and she'll work alongside a talented backcourt tandem in Arike Ogunbowale and 2026 No. 1 overall pick Azzi Fudd. 2025 Fantasy Outlook
Bueckers dealt with injuries in the first half of her collegiate career but led UConn to the Final Four in 2024 and helped the Huskies win the national title in 2025. She was unsurprisingly selected by Dallas with the No. 1 pick in the WNBA Draft and will play alongside another strong guard in Arike Ogunbowale with the Wings. Caitlin Clark made an immediate impact at the professional level as a rookie last year, and Bueckers should have plenty of opportunities to contribute as a scorer despite playing alongside Ogunbowale, who finished second in the WNBA with 22.2 points per game last year. However, Bueckers has less fantasy upside than Clark as a rookie since the UConn product isn't as dominant from beyond the arc and doesn't produce as much as a passer or rebounder. Despite these factors, Bueckers should still be a solid contributor for the rebuilding Wings in 2025 and warrants consideration in the early-to-mid rounds of fantasy drafts.
