2026 Fantasy Outlook
The Sun extended a restricted qualifying offer to Nelson-Ododa during the offseason and ultimately reached a deal to bring her back for 2026. The 25-year-old center spent the first four years of her career in Connecticut and will remain with the club following a career-best 2025 campaign. Over 37 regular-season appearances, including a career-high 21 starts, she averaged 8.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.2 blocks, 0.9 assists and 0.7 steals in 21.6 minutes per contest. While she has yet to make much of an impact in the assists column or from beyond the arc over her career, Nelson-Ododa showcased her defensive chops last season. She could provide fantasy managers with solid center stats if she has enough opportunities, though she'll have to share some work with Brittney Griner in the frontcourt. Read Past Outlooks
Another quality start Friday
Nelson-Ododa finished with 12 points (6-12 FG, 0-1 FT), nine rebounds, three assists, two steals and three blocks across 30 minutes in Friday's 68-57 victory over the Mystics.
ANALYSIS
Making her second straight start, Nelson-Ododa had another quality showing, finishing only one rebound shy of her second double-double of the year. She also had a season-high three blocks to help the Sun extend their winning streak to two games. It appears head coach Rachid Meziane will continue to reward Nelson-Ododa for her recent play, so some more appearances as a starter could be on the horizon. In five regular-season starts in 2026, the 25-year-old is averaging 12.2 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.4 blocks over 26.9 minutes.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
2023
Nelson-Ododa played exclusively off the bench during her first two seasons in Connecticut in 2023 and 2024, averaging 4.0 points and 3.1 rebounds in 13.4 minutes per game. The Sun added Tina Charles and Aneesah Morrow to their frontcourt during the offseason but lost Alyssa Thomas, Brionna Jones and Rebecca Allen, so Nelson-Ododa could have an opportunity to compete for increased playing time, especially if Morrow faces a learning curve during her first professional season. Nelson-Ododa's fantasy value has come mainly as a streamer in recent years, but she's proven to be capable of being a decent contributor when she has enough playing time, and she could at least be a consistent part of the rotation this year.
