2026 Fantasy Outlook
Ogwumike is one of the longest-tenured veterans of the WNBA, spending the first 12 seasons of her career with the Sparks before playing for the Storm in 2024 and 2025. This upcoming campaign will be her age-36 season, though she has shown no signs of slowing down. She finished the 2025 regular season averaging 18.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 steals over 30.9 minutes per game, and she demonstrated a willingness to expand her range, connecting on a career-best 1.5 three-pointers per game on 36.7 percent shooting from beyond the arc. Ogwumike signed a deal to return to the Sparks during the offseason, and she should remain a top fantasy option in her return to Los Angeles while playing alongside Dearica Hamby and Cameron Brink in the frontcourt. Ogwumike (hand) had imaging done to determine the severity of the left-hand injury sustained in Thursday's 97-88 win over Phoenix, independent WNBA journalist Justin Russo reports.
ANALYSIS
While not much has been revealed about Ogwumike's hand injury, head coach Lynne Roberts indicated that it "shouldn't be a long term issue," although she did acknowledge that the 35-year-old is battling "inflammation, soreness and pain." The Sparks don't play again for nearly a week after Saturday's clash with the Aces, so there should be more updates before then. With Ogwumike sidelined against Las Vegas, Cameron Brink will take her place in the starting lineup.

2022
Ogwumike donned a new uniform in 2024 after playing the first 12 seasons of her career in Los Angeles, and she took a step back in most statistical categories during her first year with the Storm. She averaged 16.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.9 steals in 31.8 minutes per game across 37 regular-season appearances, but she could see her workload increase in 2025, especially in the scoring column, after Jewell Loyd was traded to the Aces. The 34-year-old Ogwumike has a high fantasy floor and should be targeted in the early rounds of most fantasy drafts.
Ogwumike has spent the first 12 seasons of her career in Los Angeles but was an unrestricted free agent ahead of the 2024 season. She's remained with the Sparks through ups and downs but informed Los Angeles in January that she plans to play elsewhere in 2024. The 33-year-old signed with the Storm in February and joins a new-look lineup that includes Jewell Loyd, Skylar Diggins-Smith and Ezi Magbegor, but Ogwumike should remain an impactful player. She shot 51.2 percent from the floor in 2023 -- the second-lowest mark of her career -- but logged a career-high 14.3 field-goal attempts per game. Ogwumike's production remained constant, as she averaged 19.1 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.7 steals in 31.1 minutes per game. While Seattle struggled last year, the team should show vast improvement in 2024 with Ogwumike helping to lead the way. She's one of the league's premier scoring and rebounding threats and has shot over 50 percent from the floor in each of her professional seasons. Ogwumike should remain a dominant frontcourt presence with her new team and is still a player to target early in fantasy drafts.
Ogwumike had the opportunity to explore free agency during the offseason but ultimately decided to re-sign with the Sparks. She posted a bounce-back campaign in 2022 with Los Angeles, racking up 18.0 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, her best totals in the categories since 2019. It helped that she was able to stay on the floor for most of the season, missing just two games after playing a combined 36 in the previous two campaigns. Ogwumike is the featured option in Los Angeles when healthy, and the front office brought in some reinforcements this offseason, including a premier point guard in Jasmine Thomas and another scoring threat in Azura Stevens. While the two should factor into the usage equation, Ogwumike is still front-and-center, and she could benefit from the additional distributor in Thomas.
Ogwumike missed over a month with a knee injury and appeared in only 18 games during the 2021 campaign. However, the veteran forward was productive in her limited action and averaged 14.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.4 steals across 31.7 minutes per game. After returning from the injury, she scored in double figures in nine straight games and registered three double-doubles during that stretch, including back-to-back games to finish the season. The addition of Liz Cambage may cut into Ogwumike's overall usage, but as long as she's able to stay healthy, she is expected to be one of the more consistent producers in the WNBA.
