After being selected No. 10 overall by Connecticut in the 2024 WNBA Draft, Lacan chose to sit out the 2024 campaign to prepare for the Olympics and then missed the onset of 2025 due to overseas obligations. The Sun eased her into action, deploying her as a reserve in nine of her first 10 games, before Lacan closed the season effectively as a full-time starter. Since she'll likely open 2026 as a member of the first unit, the rookie guard's averages of 10.1 points, 4.7 assists, 2.5 steals and 2.1 rebounds in 28.2 minutes per contest through 15 regular-season games as a starter a year ago are notable. Brittney Griner signed with the Sun during the offseason, but Lacan's fantasy stock is on the rise following a promising finish last season, especially since Marina Mabrey joined the Tempo ahead of the 2026 campaign. Lacan is expected to miss at least the first week of the regular season due to an overseas commitment, per Emily Adams of the Hartford Courant Tuesday.

ANALYSIS
Lacan is preparing for a championship series internationally with Basket Landes that could end as late as May 17. With Lacan away from the Sun, Saniya Rivers and Shey Peddy (lower leg) should see increased minutes in Connecticut's backcourt during the early going of the new campaign.

2024 Fantasy Outlook

Lacan, the No. 10 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, is headed stateside after playing for Angers in France. The 5-foot-11 guard struggled from three during league play last season, shooting 30.7 percent from deep across 18 games, but found her stroke during the 2023-24 Eurocup and went 14-for-26 from beyond the arc in six contests. She was also a solid defender in France, averaging 3.2 steals per game in league play and 1.8 in Eurocup action. Lacan will turn 20 years old during the 2024 season and has a high upside, but she's buried in Connecticut. DiJonai Carrington, Moriah Jefferson, Tiffany Mitchell, Rachel Banham and Shey Peddy will all open the season ahead of Lacan on the backcourt depth chart, not to mention Alyssa Thomas also spends a lot of time operating as the primary playmaker.
