2026 Fantasy Outlook
Playing in a loaded frontcourt, Malonga saw a limited role to start her rookie season, scoring in double figures only once over her first 23 appearances while averaging 9.0 minutes a night. However, from July 24 through the end of the playoffs, Malonga's role expanded, and she proved worthy of the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft. Despite playing only 21 minutes per game over her final 22 appearances, Malonga averaged 11.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.3 blocks and 0.7 steals while posting 57/50/58 shooting splits. After several key contributors left via free agency, Seattle may have no choice but to force Malonga into a major role, which would spike her fantasy value, especially since Ezi Magbegor may miss the start of the season, though the team also selected Awa Fam with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft. When Malonga played at least 24 minutes last season, she averaged 17.5 points, 9.8 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.0 blocks. Malonga has as high of an upside as any player in the league, but she's only 21 years old and may have some growing pains if given a lead role right away in 2026. Read Past Outlooks
Scores career-high 28 points
Malonga finished with 28 points (12-19 FG, 4-6 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks over 35 minutes in Wednesday's 94-89 loss to Portland.
ANALYSIS
After scoring only nine points in Friday's 76-72 loss to Golden State, Malonga turned it around Wednesday to drop a career-high 28 points while recording her first double-double of the 2026 campaign. Despite missing time, the 20-year-old has shown flashes of promise in her second season in the WNBA, averaging a career-best 15.8 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.3 blocks across 24.3 minutes in eight regular-season appearances.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Although Malonga is just 19 years old, she signed a contract with the Lyon club in France at age 15 and made the French national team for last year's Olympics. The 6-foot-6 center has made 22 appearances for Lyon in the BWL this year, averaging 15.4 points and 10.3 rebounds in 29.6 minutes per game while shooting 53.8 percent from the floor. Malonga was selected with the No. 2 overall pick in this year's draft by the Storm, and she's expressed her intent to play mainly in the WNBA this year rather than being a draft-and-stash pick. She won't be subject to the league's prioritization rules over the first few years of her career, and it seems likely that she'll compete for France in Eurobasket in the second half of June, which would slightly cut down on her WNBA availability. Malonga is dominant under the basket and is even a threat from the perimeter, giving her a fairly high ceiling as a rookie, even if she spends some time overseas.
