As a rookie last season, Richards averaged 2.3 points and 1.1 rebounds across 11.2 minutes per game. She scored in double figures only once, notching 14 points (5-8 FG, 4-5 3PT), three rebounds, one assist and one block in 25 minutes during a blowout loss to the Mercury on Aug. 25. The 6-foot-2 guard could slot in as the slot backup guard and could compete with Asia Durr, who is intending to return to the team at some point in 2022 following a two-year absence, and Marine Johannes, who is rumored to potentially be rejoining the WNBA ranks, for the top backup guard spot behind Sabrina Ionescu and Sami Whitcomb.
