2026 Fantasy Outlook
Following two seasons with the Liberty, Vandersloot returned to Chicago in 2025. The 37-year-old improved upon her 2024 results early in the 2025 campaign, averaging 10.6 points, 5.3 assists and 3.1 rebounds in 27.3 minutes per game over her first seven appearances before suffering a season-ending torn ACL. Vandersloot is one of the league's all-time leading passers, ranking second on the all-time assists leaderboard, behind only Sue Bird. However, her output has declined slightly in recent years, as she's averaged just 5.0 assists per game over the past two seasons. Vandersloot re-signed with the Sky ahead of the 2026 season, and while she should have an opportunity to maintain a starting role in Chicago, she doesn't have quite as much fantasy upside as she did earlier in her career, as the team traded away Ariel Atkins but brought in Skylar Diggins this spring. Ruled out for Wednesday
Vandersloot (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's preseason game against the Dream, per WNBA reporter Kareem Copeland.
ANALYSIS
Vandersloot underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in her right knee last June and will not suit up in Chicago's preseason finale. The veteran guard is without a clear timetable for a return, though her next opportunity to play will come in the Sky's regular-season opener against Portland on May 9.

Vandersloot has established herself as one of the league's premier passers throughout her career, but she saw decreased opportunities during her age-35 season, her second year with the Liberty. She still started in all 31 of her regular-season appearances, but she averaged 6.4 points, 4.8 assists and 2.6 rebounds in 22.3 minutes per game, marking one of the worst performances of her 14-year career. Vandersloot will have a chance to bounce back in Chicago, where she played for 12 seasons. She'll likely see an uptick in playing time and should have plenty of opportunities to rack up assists while playing alongside young stars like Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso. Vandersloot is a bounce-back candidate in her return to the Sky, but fantasy managers should still temper their expectations in case she deals with some conditioning concerns in her age-36 season.
