2026 Fantasy Outlook
Sykes began the campaign with the rebuilding Mystics, averaging 15.4 points, 4.4 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 25 outings, earning her third career All-Star nod. She was dealt to the Storm ahead of the trade deadline, where she saw a notable dip in production and averaged 11.8 points, 3.3 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 14 games. It was encouraging to see Sykes play most of the 2025 season after an injury-riddled 2024 campaign, though she wasn't very efficient last season, shooting 38.1 percent from the field. Still, she's capable of making an impact on both ends of the floor and has proven she can be an early-to-mid-round fantasy asset when healthy. Sykes agreed to a two-year contract with the Tempo ahead of the 2026 season and should handle a prominent role alongside Marina Mabrey in the backcourt of one of the league's newest franchises. Questionable for Wednesday
GToronto Tempo
Hip
April 28, 2026
Sykes (hip) is questionable for Wednesday's preseason game against the Sun, Chelsea Leite of The IX Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
The severity of the right hip issue is unclear, though it may keep Sykes from playing in Toronto's preseason opener. The veteran guard signed a two-year maximum contract with the Tempo this offseason and is expected to operate as one of the club's top options alongside Marina Mabrey.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
2023
2022
Sykes had a career-best season while debuting with the Mystics in 2023, but she struggled with injuries in 2024 and couldn't develop a rhythm on the stat sheet. She averaged just 23.4 minutes per game -- her lowest mark since 2018 -- and racked up 12.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game over 18 regular-season appearances. The 31-year-old still showcased some fantasy upside when healthy, so it wouldn't be surprising to see her bounce back in 2025, especially if Elena Delle Donne isn't back with the team. Sykes is capable of contributing on both sides of the ball, and she should have ample opportunities to make an impact if she can stay healthy this year.
Sykes served mainly as a starter during her time in Atlanta and Los Angeles but served exclusively as a starter during her first season with the Mystics last year and took a significant step forward. She averaged 15.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.1 steals in 31.3 minutes per game, all career-best marks. While the 30-year-old attempts fewer three-pointers than some other guards in the league, she bolsters her fantasy value through her consistent defensive production. Sykes has stayed on the court consistently for most of her career, as she's missed just five games over the past five seasons. This was always an appealing point for fantasy managers, and it was encouraging to see her appear in every game last year amid her increased role in Washington. Sykes was a reliable fantasy contributor with the Mystics last year and could take another step in 2024 since Natasha Cloud is now in Phoenix and Elena Delle Donne has decided to step away from basketball.
Sykes posted a career campaign in 2022, compiling her best efforts in assists (3.7), steals (2.0) and blocks (0.7) while falling just short on points (12.7). A handful of missed games impeded an even better season, but an outburst over the final eight games (averaging 20.1 points) also buoyed her campaign. Sykes signed with Washington this offseason, joining a backcourt featuring Natasha Cloud and Ariel Atkins. While her new squad is better than what Los Angeles ran out nightly last season, it also downgrades her fantasy context. Sykes' increased scoring production came on 11.0 shot attempts per game, her highest mark since her rookie season in 2017. The Sparks also relied on Sykes as a ball handler in 2022, which is unlikely to repeat with Cloud, an elite distributor, at point guard. The outcomes that led to Sykes' fantasy upgrade in 2022 don't seem sustainable, but she's a reliable defensive counterpart in rotisserie leagues.
Sykes played 32 games for the Sparks during the 2021 campaign and averaged 9.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.8 steals in 29.3 minutes per game. Los Angeles dealt with numerous injuries during the campaign, which allowed the fifth-year wing to start the final 18 games of the season. However, her production remained equivalent to when she was coming off the bench. A healthy Nneka Ogwumike and the addition of Chennedy Carter could reduce Sykes' role, but she figures to be a core depth piece for the Sparks during the 2022 campaign.
