Fudd was selected by the Wings with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft on Monday, Meghan L. Hall of USA Today reports.

ANALYSIS
Fudd had a productive collegiate career at UConn, most recently averaging 17.3 points, 3.1 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 2.5 steals in 28.7 minutes per game over 39 appearances during the 2025-26 campaign. She's an elite three-point shooter and converted 44.7 percent of her 6.7 three-point attempts per game last year. She'll reunite with UConn teammate Paige Bueckers in Dallas as part of a loaded backcourt that also includes veteran Arike Ogunbowale. Fudd should have the opportunity to take on a prominent role with the Wings during her rookie season.
