The Michigan Panthers selected Lombardi 38th overall in the fifth round of the 2024 UFL draft, according to their X account.

Currently part of the NFL's Cincinnati Bengals, Lombardi can be UFL-bound should they have no problem with their quarterback room, which may be the case with Joe Burrow under center. Lombardi spent six years at the college level, racking up over 8,000 scrimmage yards and almost 60 touchdowns. While the 25-year-old never turned pro until now, his collegiate experience is quite unparalleled, which could make him a legitimate candidate to be Michigan's primary quarterback in place of Danny Etling.
