James' standout performance was relatively unforeseen, considering he came into the Week 7 win having netted just 27 rushing yards and a touchdown on 12 carries over his first three appearances. The Nevada-Las Vegas product averaged over 4.0 yards per carry for the first time, and he went into the end zone from 14 and 18 yards out in the second and third quarters, respectively. James logged only two fewer carries and three less rushing yards than backfield mate Jarveon Howard, and it will be interesting to see how the division of labor between the two breaks down in a Week 8 home showdown against the Gamblers on Saturday afternoon.
