Shirden came into the game with only 10 carries this season, but the Monmouth product saw an expanded opportunity Sunday with James Robinson getting the afternoon off. Shirden cashed in with a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns, scoring from 17 and four yards out. Shirden logged just two fewer carries than lead back Ian Wheeler, but come Sunday's road playoff matchup against the Battlehawks, he'll almost certainly slot back into a No. 3 running back role and continue seeing the majority of his action on special teams.
