Austin Reed

QuarterbackQB
Stellar in season-opening win
QBDallas
March 30, 2026
Reed completed 26 of 40 passes for 376 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions while adding four rushes for eight yards during the Renegades' 36-17 win over the Gamblers in Week 1.
ANALYSIS
Reed was somewhat surprisingly named the starter over Luis Perez during the week, and the former immediately validated the decision with a standout performance. Reed connected with Ellis Merriweather (three yards), Tyler Vaughns (14 yards) and Greg Ward (66 yards) for his trio of scoring tosses, the latter coming on the first play from scrimmage of the second half to stake Dallas to a 30-3 lead. Reed also put together a prolific college career at West Florida and Western Kentucky, so his Week 1 success may not necessarily be an outlier. Reed's first opportunity to build on his explosive opener in a Week 2 home showdown against the Battlehawks.
