Marcel Lubik
22-Year-Old
Wisla Krakow
Extends contract, heads on loan
Lubik signed a contract extension with Augsburg through June 2029 and will spend the coming season on loan at Wisla Krakow, the parent club announced.
ANALYSIS
Lubik joined the Augsburg academy in 2018 and has spent the past two seasons on loan in Poland, most recently at Gornik Zabrze where he made 36 competitive appearances as first-choice goalkeeper, keeping 13 clean sheets and winning the Polish Cup while also finishing runners-up in the league. The 22-year-old received his first Poland under-21 call-up in October 2025 and has since accumulated five caps at that level. Sporting director Benni Weber highlighted his excellent progress and the faith the club has in his long-term future at Augsburg, with the Wisla Krakow loan designed to give him another year of regular first-team football at a high level before his anticipated return to the Bundesliga.
