Signs extension, sent on loan
Urbich has signed a contract extension with Gladbach until June 2029, with the striker set to spend the upcoming season on loan at second division side Eintracht Braunschweig, the club announced.
ANALYSIS
Urbich scored 14 goals and provided five assists across 20 appearances for Gladbach's U23 side last season after joining from Kickers Offenbach, also making three brief first-team appearances including his Bundesliga debut against Freiburg. Sporting director Rouven Schroder explained that illness and injury prevented him from building on a strong start to the campaign, making the extension and loan to the second tier the logical next step, with a return to Gladbach next summer dependent on his performances in Braunschweig.
