Rasmus Kristensen News: Returns to Midtjylland
Kristensen has completed a transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt to FC Midtjylland, with the Danish international returning home for family reasons ahead of the 2026/27 season, the club announced. "Rasmus came to us and told us of his wish to return home. As well as being a very good footballer, he is also a family man for whom it is very important to be close to his family. It was not easy to let him go, but we had no desire to prevent him from fulfilling his wish and agreed to his departure once we had negotiated with Midtjylland," said board member for sport Markus Krosche.
Kristensen leaves Frankfurt after making 71 appearances since arriving on loan from Leeds United in summer 2024, a move made permanent following a first season in which he established himself as a regular right back and helped the club qualify for the Champions League. The 28-year-old, capped 34 times by Denmark, returns to Midtjylland, the club where he came through the youth system before launching his career, and will look to contribute on the right side of defense as the Superliga side prepares for the 2026/27 season.
