Tchouameni was injured in training Friday ahead of Saturday's round of 16 match against Paraguay and will miss out due to a thigh injury, according to Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport.

Tchouameni was taken out of training Friday after feeling discomfort in his thigh and will now miss out on the round of 16, as the injury is either too much or they don't want to risk him as a heavy favorite. He has started in three games for the French squad this World Cup, so this is a major loss as they control the middle of the field. Manu Kone is expected to enter the starting XI in his place, a player who has started twice and is a viable replacement. The good news for French fans is that Tchouameni is only expected to miss around four days, back for the quarterfinals if France advance.
