Andreas Christensen News: Signs extension through 2028

Christensen signed a two-year contract extension with Barcelona, keeping him at the club through June 2028, the club announced.

Christensen joined from Chelsea in the summer of 2022 and is now entering his fifth season as a Blaugrana, having made 98 official appearances across all competitions including 71 in La Liga and 15 in the Champions League. The 30-year-old Danish center-back has won three La Liga titles, a Copa del Rey and three Spanish Super Cups during his time at the club, establishing himself as a valuable squad member thanks to his tactical intelligence, experience and comfort in possession. His 2025-26 campaign was heavily disrupted by a serious knee injury that kept him sidelined for almost six months, though he made his comeback in the final league fixture of the season away at Valencia in late May. Now fully recovered, Christensen is expected to bring his leadership and defensive quality back to the Barca backline for the coming seasons.
