2026 Fantasy Outlook
With a win at Rockingham, eight Top-5 and 15 Top-10 finishes, Ankrum showed growth and his potential last season. It was the most successful campaign of his seven seasons in the Craftsman Truck Series. He returns to an intact No. 18 Chevrolet team at MHR again this season. Crew chief, Mark Hillman, and Ankrum showed great chemistry last year and the potential it teases for 2026. At soon-to-be 25-years-old, he's still a young driver, despite his 161 series starts now. That combination of youth and depth of experience is rare in this division of NASCAR. Ankrum will now assert himself as a weekly contender for wins and a prospective championship contender in this division of NASCAR. Read Past Outlooks
10th at Michigan
Ankrum finished in 10th place on Saturday in the DQS Solutions & Staffing 250 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Michigan International Speedway.
ANALYSIS
It was a quiet day for Ankrum, who ran just outside of the Top 10 for much of the DQS Solutions & Staffing 250 before sliding up to 10th in the final stretch. It was his fourth Top-10 finish of the season and marked the first time in 2026 that he's recorded back-to-back Top 10s. He'll look to bring that momentum to San Diego following the off week, though it's worth noting that his finishes on road courses this season are 31st (St. Petersburg) and 17th (Watkins Glen).

Ankrum raced to arguably his best campaign of his six-season truck series career last year. He'd stack up career-bests of six Top-5 and 12 Top-10 finishes. The young driver would be held out of victory lane, but Ankrum had the speed to challenge for a win on a couple of occasions. He returns to this race team once again for the upcoming season and teams again with crew chief Mark Hillman. The two will look to build on the consistency they established last season and hopefully make a big push to get into victory lane in 2025. Ankrum has a lot of potential and we'll soon see if he's reached the pinnacle or has more room to grow.
