10th in Indy 500
IRL
May 25, 2026
Sato finished 10th in Sunday's Indianapolis 500, the best result of any one-off driver.
ANALYSIS
It was the first start this season for the 49-year-old, two-time Indianapolis 500 winner. He was involved in a Lap 27 incident that ended Ed Carpenter's day, but Sato was able to continue on. Sato hasn't run a non-Indianapolis IndyCar race since 2023, so he's unlikely to show back up again this season. The big question is whether he'll return to the track in 2027 in search of a third Indy 500 title or not.
