Tops Opening Arlington Practice
IRL
March 13, 2026
McLaughlin had a great time in the first practice Friday for the inaugural Java House Grand Prix of Arlington, and his pleasure didn't come just from the fast digits next to his name on the results sheet, IndyCar.com reports.
ANALYSIS
This 80-minute opening session would see McLaughlin post a lap of 1:34.8926 of the 14-turn street circuit in Arlington. The Penske Racing star would need just 18 total laps to finely tune his machine prior to Saturday's qualifying session. McLaughlin would edge Alex Palou by a half-tenth to lead the way. He'll be a top contender to win Sunday's Java House Grand Prix of Arlington.
