Hamilton finished second in the Canadian Grand Prix Formula 1 race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Sunday afternoon.

The Ferrari star would start fifth on the grid and grab a couple spots in the early going when both McLaren were forced to pit to change tyres. He would then lose a position to Max Verstappen, but he would chase the Red Bull star back down in the closing laps. Hamilton would perform a strong overtake of Verstappen on lap 62. That would secure the strong P2 finish for the veteran driver. Hamilton's best finish to this point with Ferrari.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
After a rough start to his 2022 season, Hamilton found more challenge in competing with his teammate than the Red Bulls last year, going without a single win for the first time since joining Formula One despite finishing on the podium a total of nine times. The Mercedes engineers were hard at work attempting to fix an aero issue on Hamilton's W13 for most of the season, and the driver of the No. 44 claims that the bouncing of the car served as a major roadblock between the Brit and finishing first-place. Regardless, last year was Hamilton's first year finishing behind his teammate in the points (Lewis coming in sixth, with George Russell finishing fourth) since the same happened in 2016 with Nico Rosberg. The 2023 season will be a big year for Hamilton if he wants to make another push for the world title, with a championship run only possible if Mercedes is able to provide a car without the previous season's detrimental issues.
