Slips to Fourth at St.Pete
Kirkwood finished fourth at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg in Sunday's IndyCar race.
ANALYSIS
Kirkwood didn't look to be much of a factor through qualifying, as he started 15th on the grid. However, he cut his first stint short, undercutting the field effectively, a strategy that helped him hold second position for much of the second half of the race. His primary battle for that position was with Scott McLaughlin, though McLaughlin ultimately got the better of him on Lap 93. Kirkwood used up his tires in the fight, causing him to cede another position to Christian Lundgaard. Despite the late disappointment, it was a strong opening effort to the 2026 season for Kirkwood.

Takes Detroit Grand Prix Win
