Suffers engine failure
Antonelli was forced to retire after completing 61 laps of the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix F1 race at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Antonelli was on the back foot relative to George Russell throughout the weekend, ultimately qualifying three-tenths of a second off the pace of his teammate to start third on the grid. However, Antonelli was quicker on race day and had passed Russell with around seven laps remaining to take over second place, only to retire a handful of laps later after his engine failed. As a result, Antonelli lost a chunk of his advantage in the driver standings, but he still holds a 41-point lead over Lewis Hamilton and a 50-point advantage over Russell.
