The P5 qualifying spot would pay big dividends for this young driver. Hadjar would battle drivability and engine power issues in the early laps but he would nurse his ailing car through those troubles. A late-race safety car would add some opportunity and the Red Bull Racing youngster would secure what would appear to be a P4 finish. However, a 10-second time penalty would demote Pierre Gasly and Hadjar would promote onto the podium in P3 for the first time in his career.
