ANALYSIS
The Haas F1 veteran would line up 13th on the starting grid and make some great headway in the opening lap. Ocon would climb to P8 after all the dust settled and would ride there until the first VSC of the day. He would pit and rejoin P10 having consolidated the track position gained. Ocon would then get into a heated battle with old rival Pierre Gasly. The two would make contact but the stewards would rule out any penalties. Ocon would ride Gasly's rear wing all the way to the checkered flag and P11 finish.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Ocon returns to Alpine in 2023 after a relatively successful 2022 season. He finished eighth in the standings, equaling his best season performance since his first full-time season in 2017. His average finish in the 22 races was 9.1 despite an average start of 12.0. His best finish came late in the year at Suzuka. Ocon's consistent points finishes along with that fourth-place Suzuka finish late in the season demonstrate Alpine's ability to continue extracting speed throughout the course of the season. A big question for 2023 will be how much of that car development is lost with former champion Fernando Alonso leaving the team. However, a focus for Ocon personally will be improving his single-lap pace in qualifying. Getting more out of qualifying will put him in position for even better results in 2023, and podium finishes should be within reach.
