Leads Day 1 Test at Indy

If there was one common trend in the first day of the Indianapolis 500 Open Test, it's that experience matters. The top five drivers on the speed chart Tuesday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway each have made at least 10 starts in "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing," as 12-time "500" starter Daly led with a best lap of 225.394 mph in the No. 23 Dreyer & Reinbold Racing Chevrolet, IndyCar.com reports.

ANALYSIS
Daly is getting a one-off attempt at the upcoming Indianapolis 500 with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing. The veteran put on a real show in the opening day of tests at the historic oval. Daly beat out Helio Castroneves to claim the top lap in the non-tow speeds. It was a good shake down for this small team and a hopeful sign for Daly's chances at Indianapolis next month.
