Signs Five-Race Deal
Mears will continue his chase of 500 career starts in the NASCAR Cup Series with a five-race slate driving for Beard Motorsports, RACER reports.
ANALYSIS
The veteran driver is hot in pursuit of hitting the 500-start milestone and Beard Motorsports is going to help Mears do it. They've signed him to a five-race deal that includes: both Talladega races, Indianapolis, Daytona and Homestead. Mears will have to qualify for those events on lap time as the team does not have a charter. If the veteran driver can qualify and start all five events that would put his 500th-start in the season finale at Homestead.
