Palou picked up right where he left off in 2025, opening the 2026 NTT IndyCar Series season with a dominant victory in the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.

Scott McLaughlin would dominate the opening stint of this 100-lap battle on the streets of St. Petersburg. Once opening pit stops would commence, Palou and his Chip Ganassi team would stay out longer and execute the perfect overcut maneuver. Palou would cycle back out into the lead and control the pace from that point on.
