Taking on de Ridder in new division
Light HeavyweightUFC
July 3, 2026
Dolidze has moved to light heavyweight and will face Reinier de Ridder at UFC Sacramento on Aug. 22, Marcel Dorff of Heavy On Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Like de Ridder, Dolidze is moving to a new division, as he used to compete at middleweight. Dolidze will step into the octagon with a 15-5-0 pro record but on the heels of two straight losses against Christian Leroy Duncan and Anthony Hernandez over the last 12 months. Prior to that, however, he had won three fights in a row.

Falls via decision in London
Light HeavyweightUFC
March 21, 2026
Dolidze lost to Christian Leroy Duncan via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in London.
ANALYSIS
The scorecards here are misleading. Dolidze looked awful, and the lone reason he won a frame was because he ended up in top position in Round 3 and was able to ride it to three-plus minutes worth of control time. Other than that, Duncan dominated the striking exchanges between the two to a massive degree. All told, Dolidze landed three takedowns and racked up 7:07 worth of control time and was credited with just 10 significant strikes landed. You aren't going to win a decision that way these days with judges looking for damage over positioning. Roman will be 38 years old in July and has dropped back-to-back fights on the heels of a three-bout winning streak. He appears to be fading.
Duncan up next
Light HeavyweightUFC
December 30, 2025
Dolidze will fight Christian Leroy Duncan at UFC London on March 21, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Dolidze lost his three-fight winning streak after losing to Anthony Hernandez in August. The 37-year-old middleweight will now aim to get back in the win column in March, though he will have a four-inch reach disadvantage while facing an opponent who has won three straight bouts.
Loses lopsided main event
Light HeavyweightUFC
August 10, 2025
Dolidze lost to Anthony Hernandez via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:45 of Round 4 at UFC Vegas 109 on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Dolidze was hardly competitive in his second consecutive main-event spot, and his three-fight winning streak was snapped as a result. He spent the first three rounds consistently getting beat up by a quicker opponent, and by the time the finish happened in Round 4, he was exhausted, bloody and visibly defeated. Right after getting docked a point for repeated fence grabs, Dolidze ate a massive knee from Hernandez, which opened the door for the finish. It's now back to the drawing board for the 37-year-old Romanian.
Booked vs. Hernandez
Light HeavyweightUFC
May 23, 2025
Dolidze will take on Anthony Hernandez in a middleweight bout at UFC Vegas 109 on August 9, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Dolidze has won three straight bouts and will look to make it four against Hernandez in his second fight of 2025. Last time in the Octagon, he disposed of Marvin Vettori via unanimous decision, pushing his UFC record to 9-3. His opponent Hernandez is off to an excellent start to his career as well, sitting at 8-2 in the promotion and currently riding a seven-bout winning streak.
Gets revenge on Marvin Vettori
Light HeavyweightUFC
March 15, 2025
Dolidze defeated Marvin Vettori via unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 49-46) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
With the win, Dolidze gets revenge on Vettori for the latter's unanimous decision victory when the two first met two years ago. Roman deserves credit for sticking with the game plan here. He had some hairy moments in Round 2 and appeared to be fading, but he was able to pick up the pace over the final 15 minutes -- a pace Vettori couldn't match. Not only did Roman win the total strike battle by a 141-112 count, but he also landed the far more notable blows the entire fight. It was assumed Vettori would have a pace, cardio and volume advantage, and that proved not to be the case in the least. The winner of three straight, Dolidze remains on the fringes of title contention at 185 pounds, but he better make his move quickly considering he turns 37 years of age this coming July.
