This fight was essentially a worst-case matchup for Erosa. He entered with seven knockout losses on his resume. Combine that with the fact Douglas seems to have some of the most ridiculous power we have seen in the featherweight division in some time, and the result seemed like a mere formality. Officially, Erosa was only knocked down twice, but it felt more like four or five times. Referee Blake Grice mercifully stopped the proceedings a shade under four minutes in. Erosa will be 37 years old in July, and some performances like this just come with the territory. He's lost back-to-back fights on the heels of a three-fight winning streak.

He came up just short here against Costa, but showed plenty of toughness in the process. Erosa has legitimate power but is a sloppy striker. As a result, he found himself on the short end of a 102-69 count in terms of significant strikes landed. He did managed to land three takedowns in an attempt to close the gap, but it ended up not being enough. Time is most certainly not on the side of "Juicy J" given he'll be 36 years of age in late July, but there's clearly still some gas left in the tank here despite this setback.
