Returns at UFC Vegas 120
Quarantillo will take on Carlos Diego Ferreira at UFC Vegas 120 on August 8, Marcel Dorff of Heavy on Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
After entering the UFC and gaining a bit of momentum, Quarantillo has been a sub-.500 fighter dating back to 2020. Following back-to-back defeats and a year on the sidelines, he'll get back in the cage for a reasonable bounce-back opponent in Ferreira -- a 41-year-old fighter who has lost two consecutive fights as well. When the cage doors close, Quarantillo will hold the edge in volume striking, though Ferreira has been much better defensively.

Crushing defeat in hometown
Quarantillo lost to Cub Swanson via KO (punches) at 1:36 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Tampa, Florida.
ANALYSIS
Entering as a -205 favorite in front of family and friends in his native Tampa, Quarantillo put forth another uneven performance. This was a close, tightly contested fight up until the finish. Both men had their moments in a bout which featured very little defense. Yet, Billy Q's durability has been a major issue of late, and Cub was able to get him out of there with one huge combination about 90 seconds into the final frame. Billy just turned 36 years of age last week and is now sporting a 1-3 record in his last four fights dating back to April 2023. On the bright side, he'll at least walk away with a $50,000 bonus after this bout was awarded Fight of the Night honors.

Will take on Cub Swanson
Quarantillo will take on Cub Swanson at UFC Tampa on Dec. 14, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
The 35-year-old Floridian has alternated losses and wins in his past eight bouts, but if the fight against Youssef Zalal is of any indication, he's been struggling from an endurance perspective of late. Quarantillo will aim to bounce back after being dominated by Zalal with absolute ease in his most recent trip to the octagon.

No-shows Vegas loss
Quarantillo lost to Youssef Zalal via submission (rear-naked choke) at 1:50 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Quarantillo opened as a -155 favorite when this fight was announced, but was down to a +110 underdog when it finally kicked off. As always, Vegas knows all. Billy couldn't have looked any worse. He was consistently and thoroughly dominated by Zalal at the point of attack throughout the course of the fight. He was beaten up on the feet and then dominated whenever the bout ended up on the mat. No fighter on the UFC roster is as inconsistent as Quarantillo. The 35-year-old Floridian has alternated losses and wins in his past eight bouts.

Given new opponent
Quarantillo is scheduled to compete against Youssef Zalal in a featherweight fight at UFC Vegas 89 on March 23, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Quarantillo was expected to fight Gabriel Miranda before he withdrew from it. Fortunately for the former, Zalal has stepped in under two weeks' notice. He recently re-signed with the UFC after going 3-0 following his first release from the promotion back in 2022.

Upcoming fight canceled
Quarantillo is not scheduled to fight Gabriel Miranda at UFC Vegas 89, according to Nolan King of USA Today.
ANALYSIS
Miranda withdrew from the fight, leaving Quarantillo without an opponent. Currently, the UFC has just under three weeks to find Miranda's replacement, or Quarantillo will sit out UFC Vegas 89.
