Bardakov is expected to open the regular season as the Avalanche's fourth-line center, according to Avalanche freelance writer Adrian Dater.

Bardakov had 17 goals and 35 points across 53 regular-season appearances with St. Petersburg of the KHL in 2024-25. He inked a one-year, entry-level contract with the Avalanche on April 20. Although the 24-year-old had solid offensive production in the KHL, he's unlikely to contribute much at the NHL level in a reduced role.
