Kolyachonok's new contract is a one-way deal, which might indicate that New Jersey is seriously considering him for an Opening Night roster spot. The Penguins dealt the 24-year-old blueliner to Dallas in the offseason. Kolyachonok hasn’t displayed much offensively at the NHL level yet, though he could be a decent source of hits and blocks if his role increases. He will be a depth option for the Stars in the 2025-26 campaign, but he may not see much NHL action unless injuries mount.
