2026 Fantasy Outlook
Trocheck was limited to 67 appearances in 2025-26, but he largely lived up to expectations when healthy with 16 goals, 37 points, 114 shots, 64 PIM and 193 hits. However, he averaged just 5.0 shots per 60 minutes, which was a huge dip from his previous career-low of 7.0 in 2021-22 and 2024-25. He was more economical with a career-high 14.0 shooting percentage compared to his career average of 11.0 percent. That might not be sustainable, so unless his shot frequency rebounds, his goal production is likely to suffer. He also had a career-worst minus-16 rating last year, which was reflective of the Rangers' overall struggles. A move to Utah should eliminate some of those issues. As such, Trocheck offers a nice blend of skill and grit that makes him desirable in a variety of formats. Surpassing the 50-point mark for a sixth straight campaign is probable, and he should add 50-plus PIM and 175-plus hits. Read Past Outlooks
Acquired via trade
Trocheck was traded to the Mammoth from the Rangers on Wednesday in exchange for Sean Durzi, Cole Beaudoin and a 2027 third-round pick, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
ANALYSIS
Trocheck was limited to just 67 appearances in 2025-26, but he still managed to reach the 50-point threshold for the fifth straight year. The veteran forward should be a lock for a top-six role and the No. 1 power-play unit with his new club. If he can stay healthy, there is little reason to expect a drop in production from Trocheck in Salt Lake City.

Trocheck’s third season with the Rangers was a far cry from his 2023-24 in which the 31-year-old was nearly a point-per-game player. From a goal-scoring standpoint, he racked up 26 goals in 2024-25 but recorded just 33 assists, and his 12 points on the power play represented a huge drop from his career season. Even so, the two-way center played in all 82 games yet again, keeping up his perfect Ironman streak in a Rangers uniform. He notched a league-leading six goals when his team was down a man and recorded a career-high 214 hits. With the addition of J.T. Miller, Trocheck’s role on the team took a step back as he was taken off the top power play. The 31-year-old has proven that his floor remains high, but for 2025-26, his linemates will determine whether this season looks more like his 77-point campaign in 2023-24.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
On trade market?
Trocheck might be shopped by the Rangers over the offseason, per Chris Johnston of The Athletic on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Trocheck had 16 goals, 53 points, 64 PIM and 193 hits in 67 appearances with the Rangers in 2025-26. His run of four consecutive regular seasons with at least 20 goals came to an end, but he's now reached the 50-point milestone for five straight years. Trocheck also has a 54.3 career regular-season winning percentage on the draw, and he can serve on the penalty kill, so he helps in a wide array of ways. Combine that with his reasonable $5.625 cap hit through 2028-29, and the Rangers should get a great return for the 32-year-old if they trade him.
