2025 Fantasy Outlook
Husso had a 2-6-3 record, 3.48 GAA and .890 save percentage across 13 appearances with Detroit and Anaheim in 2024-25, which made it his third straight campaign with a GAA above 3.00 and a save percentage below .900. Husso showed promise during the 2021-22 regular season with St. Louis, posting a 25-7-6 record, 2.56 GAA and .919 save percentage in 40 outings. He even had a plus-13.5 goals saved above expected that campaign, but he hasn’t had a positive goals saved above expected since. That suggests his former success wasn’t solely due to others, but his more recent floundering also can’t be fully explained away by defensive struggles in front of him. Husso enters 2025-26 competing with Petr Mrazek for the No. 2 spot behind starter Lukas Dostal. Under those circumstances, and with a rebuilding Ducks squad, don’t project this to be Husso’s comeback campaign. Read Past Outlooks
Wins season finale
Husso made 17 saves in a 5-4 win over the Predators on Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Husso finished the regular season with a 10-8-2 record, 3.25 GAA and .884 save percentage in 19 starts. Barring a twist of fate, Husso will warm the end of the bench as Lukas Dostal leads the Ducks' first postseason charge since 2018.

Husso had an awful season in 2023-24, and he now enters this season at risk of losing an NHL job. He played just 19 games due to injury but didn't play well even when he was healthy. A closer look reveals his slide actually started the season before. Husso allowed three or more goals in 25 of his last 34 appearances in 2022-23 despite winning 26 games. The Wings inked veteran Cam Talbot in free agency, so Husso will compete with last season's surprise No 1, Alex Lyon, to be Talbot's backup. The Wings might carry both Husso and Lyon - they had a three-headed goalie monster last season. Something has to give because there's a logjam in the AHL with Jack Campbell and Sebastian Cossa, so fantasy players will likely want to avoid Husso at the draft.

Lukas Dostal is starting Sunday against the Flames in the first half of a back-to-back set, so Husso is likely to get the second half. The 30-year-old Husso has played only twice in January, winning once and losing once. He has a 6-4-1 record, 3.08 GAA and .888 save percentage on the season.
